“Converging Technologies for Improving Human Performance”
by the National Science Foundation & the US Department of Commerce
“In the early decades of the twenty-first century, concentrated efforts can unify science based on the unity of nature, thereby advancing the combination of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and new technologies based in cognitive science. With proper attention to ethical issues and societal needs, converging technologies could achieve a tremendous improvement in human abilities, societal outcomes, the nation’s productivity, and the quality of life. This is a broad, cross- cutting, emerging and timely opportunity of interest to individuals, society and humanity in the long term.”
After the blatant suppression of The Last Bastille Podcast #46 – Internal Balkanization on BlogTalkRadio, followed by my unceremonious expulsion from New Colony Media on March 22 of 2012, I decided to take up a previously standing offer to join up with the crew of You Have Tread on Me, of which I have been a periodic guest of in the past. Continuity with the previous The Last Bastille Podcast episodes will be maintained.
The first episode to be hosted on You Have Tread on Me (YHTOM) will be about the alternative media. The live stream will begin on Saturday, March 31st @ 9pm EST (8pm CST). You are all welcome to call-in via Skype (make a request in the chat room first, please). If you prefer to listen to it after the live broadcast, YHTOM will render it into a free downloadable podcast .
The following is a monetary reform proposal by PhiloPlatt. This proposal is subject to constructive criticism, refining, and elaboration.
(5/5/12) UPDATE: Philo has since changed his mind about his monetary reform proposal. Listen to The Last Bastille Podcast #52 – Communism for more details.
Step 1: The government needs to close all banks by confiscating the books and determining who has promissory obligations (who owes the bank) and who has checking and savings accounts. The government would need to return the depositors their money. The Bureau of Engraving & Printing would need to print up physical bills and/or write checks that could be deposited at a brokerage, pursuant to the former bank customer’s choice. Now, the borrowers wouldn’t be paying interest but they do make payments in order to extinguish the principal. Let them pay down their loans directly to the government to $1,000. This takes away the ability for a private entity to monopolize and profit from the creation of public cash.
Step 2: As that debt is extinguished, have the government issue $1,000 interest free to every producer that would like a loan. Don’t require repayment of the loan until the producer retires or moves from the country. Now you have a steady public cash supply resulting in a steady economy and full employment. No one is in too much public cash debit, resulting in minimal defaults, and thus minimal inflation.
Step 3: All pooling of resources would then be done through a private brokerage by the creation of stocks and bonds. Your broker would also handle your checking account, since he’s just a bookkeeper. The resulting culture is going to be of people who must save in order to buy things instead of getting supposed “financing.”
*Note: There is also a Army Study Guide page on this, which is essentially the Cliff Notes version.
“Drill and Ceremonies”
by the Department of the Army (FM 3-21.5)
“This field manual provides guidance for Armywide uniformity in the conduct of drill and ceremonies. It includes methods of instructing drill, teaching techniques, individual and unit drill, manual of arms for infantry weapons, and various other aspects of basic drill instruction. This manual is designed for use by soldiers of all military occupational skills, to include the new soldier in the initial entry training environment. Since all situations or eventualities pertaining to drill and ceremonies cannot be foreseen, commanders may find it necessary to adjust the procedures to local conditions. However, with the view toward maintaining consistency throughout the Army, the procedures prescribed herein should be followed as closely as possible.”
“Rightwing Extremism – Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence is Radicalization and Recruitment”
by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (Department of Homeland Security)
“The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African-American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.”
“Civilian Inmate Labor Program”
by the Department of the Army (Regulation #210-35)
“This regulation provides Army policy and guidance for establishing civilian inmate labor programs and civilian prison camps on Army installations. Sources of civilian inmate labor are limited to on– and off–post Federal corrections facilities, State and/or local corrections facilities operating from on–post prison camps pursuant to leases under Section 2667, Title 10, United States Code (10 USC 2667), and off–post State corrections facilities participating in the demonstration project authorized under Section 1065, Public Law (PL) 103–337. Otherwise, State and/or local inmate labor from off–post corrections facilities is currently excluded from this program.”
This week’s episode, we will explore infighting.
Arguably, the number one threat to the Patriot Movement is infighting. It has been quite noticeable and it’s not a recent phenomenon either. It’s something that’s been going on in fits and starts over many years. Even though there are current efforts to conduct third party arbitration, internal balkanization is very much a genuine threat and still constitutes the biggest elephant in the room.
Tonight will be a rebroadcast of the March 13, 2012 You Have Tread on Me broadcast entitled, “Gary Hunt Exposed! John Doe #4 @ OKC.” That episode is reused with permission, and is available as a free downloadable podcast.
Featured music is AshleyAlyse’s “A Puzzling Predicament,” and Bosa’s “King’s Quest,” both of them available pursuant to CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 Unported.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” – [Source Citation]
I will be on tonight’s broadcast of YHTOM discussing internal balkinization (aka infighting). This broadcast is available as a free downloadable podcast.
