Hello, everyone. This is LaVoy Finicum. It’s been awhile since I’ve made a video, but I think it’s time I made another one.

I’m here at my white springs. This is my only live water on my ranch, this is my storage tank here for it. I purchased this with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears; it’s mine, I own it – it’s private property.

The tank holds 100,000 gallons of water. Now, that spring, that water is this tank is mine, I own it, and there’s been a few fires here in the area. The BLM came in here, set up a tank – they drained it. They took it, just about every bit of it, to use for their own fires to put’em out, without so much as a “Howdy,” or a “Please,” or “We’re gonna use it,” they just set up and they took it. “I used to be a libertarian, but if you’re a logical libertarian, you become an anarchist. Anarchists suffer from very bad press, but they’re not people who wear little black capes and carry little round bombs with lit fuses – that daft idea has nothing to do with anarchism whatsoever. Just as Monarchists believe in one ruler, a king, and democrats believe in the rule of the majority; an anarchist simply believes in no rule. That’s not to say that he doesn’t believe in order, they do, very much so, and they also believe in society to the same degree. Recently, my anarchism has evolved into what I like to call discordianism, which isn’t a political philosophy as such, it’s more a case of seeing everything that is going on around me as a bit of a cruel joke. In other words, I’ve come to the realization that very little of what we get so concerned about is really worth the powder it takes to blow it to hell. I just find myself watching it all with amusement these days and basically do things to amuse myself, not because I hope to change the world at all, which a lot of the people in the liberal, libertarian, and even anarchist movements try to do, but because I believe that the world has a life of its own.”

Metafiction is fiction that is self-conscious about being fictional. Whether it be a novel like Fight Club or a indie video game like The Stanley Parable, metafiction reminds us that suspension of disbelief ought not to be taken for granted, especially when the fourth wall gets broken or an unreliable narrator feeds you misinformation or disinformation. Comedy thrives within such a genre, since the contradictions and paradoxes are fertile material for satire. Continue reading

Hello, everyone. This is LaVoy Finicum, at One Cowboy’s Stand for Freedom. I wanted to just talk briefly about independence and self-reliance to the degree that us, as individuals, are dependent upon any government agency (federal government, state government, or local government) for our food, our water, our shelter – to that degree, we’re not free. It would be a wise thing, I would suppose, to be able to have the means to provide your own food, shelter, and water for at least a year. Continue reading

Extraconstitutional #4: Are Texans Obliged to Insure Their Automobiles?

[Download a PDF of this article]

“Insurance policies are written contracts, and, as with other contracts, we interpret and enforce them according to settled rules of construction. Most importantly, we must give the policy’s words their plain meaning, without inserting additional provisions into the contract.”

National Union Fire Insurance Co. v. Beatrice Crocker, No. 06-0868 (2008)

Selling accident insurance as a business model was done as early as the mid-19th century, most notably by the Railway Passengers Assurance Company. The development of the automobile correspondingly lead to car accidents, which were adjudicated on the basis of tort law. Unfortunately, there was no guarantee that the at-fault tortfeasor would be wealthy enough to perform restitution for the damage he caused, so several state governments, like Connecticut and Massachusetts, passed compulsory insurance or “financial responsibility” laws. Liberty or Laws? (No. 1 – 5)

This is a partial mirroring of Gary Hunt’s series about lawfare, which is properly understood to be the government using its own laws as political weapons in order to infringe upon the rights of the American citizenry. Political prisoners are those individuals who are victimized by lawfare, and some of them include Larry Myers, Jesse Newsom, and William Wolf. Feel free to also peruse, Barbeau Qued in Seattle,” “The Harassment of the Hammonds,” andCamp Lone Starfor more case studies about the use of lawfare against Americans.

I. Dealing with the Current Invasion [7/12/14]

The Continental Congress, being the first government of what was to become the United States of America, was able to assemble, without undue influence by the British government, though contrary to the law of the land. That Congress (like the many Committees of Safety) was created in violation of British law. The British Parliament often, subsequently, passed specific laws to criminalize some of the actions taken by the colonists. Continue reading

The Electoral College & the Twelfth Amendment (U.S. Constitution Annotated)

Today’s article is composed of annotations copied from the United States Constitution Annotated (CONAN). The Electoral College (Article II § 1 cl. 2 – 4), and the Twelfth Amendment that modified it, are the actual constitutional means by which the President is elected, not by any so-called “popular vote.” Footnotes have been removed from these annotations for ease of reading, yet, they are viewable in their original form from the Library of Congress.

The electoral college was one of the compromises by which the delegates were able to agree on the document finally produced. “This subject,” said James Wilson, referring to the issue of the manner in which the President was to be selected, “has greatly divided the House, and will also divide people out of doors. It is in truth the most difficult of all on which we have had to decide.” Adoption of the electoral college plan came late in the Convention, which had previously adopted on four occasions provisions for election of the executive by the Congress and had twice defeated proposals for election by the people directly. Itself the product of compromise, electoral college probably did not work as any member of the Convention have foreseen, because the development of political parties and nomination of presidential candidates through them and designation of electors by the parties soon reduced the concept of the elector as an independent force to the vanishing point in practice in theory. But the college remains despite numerous efforts to adopt another method, a relic perhaps but still a significant one. Clause 3 has, of course, been superceded by the Twelfth Amendment. Armed People Victorious!

[Download a PDF of this article]

Most content producers in the alternative media are combat illiterate. The realities of using force seem too abstract for them to comprehend both the dangers and opportunities inherent within guerrilla warfare. Reducing the practice of using “safe spaces” for use of force discussions is only possible if individuals are genuinely willing to study the mistakes of history in order to avoid repeating them.

Throughout the Cold War, communists were attempting to violently overthrow established governments and replace them with their “dictatorship of the proletariat.” In reality, this colorful language obfuscated the truth of communism, which was the authoritarian effort to form a vanguard elite who would lead their Party into a glorious future of parasitism and plundering. Needless to say, once the locals realized just how disingenuous and bloodthirsty the commies really were, they first became disgruntled and then more open to whatever pushback against the communist guerrillas became available.
